Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study is to meta-analyze articles on the productivity of faculty members in order to summarize the status of the latest scientific achievements and identify the strengths and weaknesses of articles in this field and also provide suggested solutions to improve future research in this field.
Methods: The research method is qualitative meta-analysis. By using this method, 54 scientific articles related to the productivity of faculty members in the last two decades, from 2001 to 2021, from the scientific sources of "Noor Specialized Journals Database", "Comprehensive portal of Humanities ", "University Jahad Scientific Database" and " The country's publications Database" were identified and extracted. By studying these articles, 40 of the most relevant ones were selected for the conduct.
Results: The findings indicate that these articles often focus more on individual and intra-organizational factors affecting the productivity of faculty members. The dominant methodological approach in these articles is quantitative. Most articles lack a strong theoretical approach and policy recommendations, and the dominant approach in policy recommendations is a macro and managerial approach. The articles reviewed in terms of indicators such as questions, goals and hypotheses were relatively good ; But the conclusion section in most articles did not have sufficient order and coherence and operational solutions.
Conclusion:  By implementing this study it was found that the status of internal scientific research in the productivity of faculty members in terms of nine indices is not relatively favorable. in the field of productivity of faculty members in terms of nine indicators is not relatively favorable. The number of qualitative and in-depth researches in this field is very small and almost none of them have theoretical foundations and practical solutions and are not used in practice. On the other hand, the issue of faculty member’s productivity is one of the key and important issues in the higher education system, which requires planning to improve future research in this field.
