Investigating the training status of Traditional Art in higher education level in the country

Abstract

Regarding characteristics and internal and external values of Traditional Art in Iran and the necessity of its vivification, promotion and direction, programs for training specialists in this field are being conducted in higher education level of the country in recent years. Studying cultural and social factors affecting the training process of this kind of art in traditional societies in the past and comparing it to the prevailing training methods at universities, we will encounter some controversies and disharmonies by which students fail to match the gained knowledge of their own with the defined objectives of this art namely vivification, promotion and direction as described above.
In this study, besides reviewing the factors affecting production and training process of Traditional Art in Iran in the past, we have analyzed the present training status of such art in higher education level in terms of students’ admission and also educational programs and their adaptation with characteristics and bases of this kind of art. In the end, some approaches are introduced in order to better coordinate the training methods in high educational level with relevant values and concepts.
