To examine the relationship between attitude towards field of study and educational performance two concepts should be taken into consideration: attitude and behavior. This study seeks to measure the effects of indoctrinated attitudes to individuals on their performance. Pondering existing attitudes such as parents, teachers and society towards the university, this research also tries to investigate impacts of such attitudes on students' performance in university. Data were gathered using survey method through researcher-designed questionnaire. To analyze data, tests such as Pierson, Spearman, and T were utilized. The population included students from University of Tabriz among whom a sample of 200 people was selected. Finally, the hypotheses considering the effect of society attitude, individual himself, and individual success in performance were approved. As a result, it could be claimed that: The more a society (including friends, relatives etc) expects higher from a student, the better educational performance he will achieve. The more one expects himself, the better educational performance he will gain.
