One of the basics of development in each society is success in education and training in different areas of proficiency and providing equal opportunities for equal access to these resources. Hence, it has been tried to investigate the effect of three factors of economy, society and culture which can have influence on success of students in university entrance exam.
The success in science education is one of the main pillars of development of a society, which includes, in turn, providing equal opportunities for all citizens to access the educational resources of different professional fields. The purpose of this study is to determine how the cultural, social and economic situations of families affect on the success of their children in University Entrance Exam. In this regard, the cultural, social and economic capitals of the applicants’ families are considered as independent variables. The method of research is survey with the technique of questionnaire. Sample was electronic students of University of Tehran and computer science students of Sanjesh institution in year 1388. Results suggest solidarity is weak and average among cultural and social capitals and economy, respectively. Based on the results of the survey, it can be concluded that the increase of cultural, social and economic capitals of the families of applicants of entering the universities and higher education institutions would increase the applicants’ chance of success
